I like meat, all types of meat, I love it. If cows could talk, I’d still eat them. Theres no chance I could ever be Muslim with my feelings towards pork. Cute lambs just make me want to fire the weber up, the more cute they are, the better they taste.
I’ve purchased some meat for my party attending the Fraser Island Drinking and Fishing Expo 2006 and now it’s just teasing me chilling down in my Engel camping fridge.
I also lashed out on a new esky today as I realised my old one was given to me on my 18th birthday, 15 years ago I think, damn that esky has seen a lot of meat, and beer :)
I hope it serves me as well as my old one, which is now designated to partys and overnighters.
Next post after Fraser!

This Easter I really wasn’t motivated or organised to do didly squat, I have 2 weeks annual leave starting 5pm Friday the 21st (4 days away) to facilitate the Fraser Island Fishing and Drinking Expo 2006, and I was also on call for work so I figured it would be good to take it easy.
I didn’t move much far between my desk and the fridge on Friday, had a few work calls and a hangover from some vendor sponsored drinks on Thursday night. Saturday was almost the same other than a trip to the shops for beer and milk. I am guessing that they were not open Sunday or Monday as their meat section was 50% off so I left with enough food to feast on meat for the remander of the weekend and probably the next week. (Too much information?)
Sunday I did some work on the Blue Soldier, new Narva spotties, new rubber for the loose shock absorber, got some tools. Not much really.
Today I pax’d with ironpaw on a run out to Ormeau. The first fun bit ended up taking out ironpaw’s relay tie rod, below.

We (ironpaw with opinions form everyone else) used the hilift jack to bend it using the front bar and winch rollers on ironpaws 40 series (below), then a bit more levering it in the bull bar.

We figured this looked a lot less stuffed and would get us home.
So the plan is for ironpaw to get a 75 series tie rod, which is better, so something else breaks instead, and to get it before Fraser :)

This weekend we decided to head to Levuka for a bit of a warm up for Fraser and reconnaissance for a site to hold Brass Monkey III which might be held at the end of July this year, and unlike the Fraser Island Fishing and Drinking Expo 2006, we hope to attract many women to come and enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer (hot showers and flushing toilets!).
Brendan, Andrew, Leigh and myself were the only people that bothered to go, we were missing the Head Monkey himself who decided not to go at the last minute leaving us in doubt if there will actually be a Brass Monkey III event this year.
The camping sites are very nice, and there is cattle in the camp sites so there’s a lot of land mines about, which are slippery when wet, so take a shovel :)
We had driven through some storms that left a bit of mud around, so the rainforest tracks were nice and wet, we managed to do some recoverys to get past this little bit which was surprisingly deep and off camber at the exit.
Enough with the mud there was a lot of nice scenery there.
And we ended up cooking a whole leg of lamb, which turned out a treat :)
IP’s photos are up HERE. I have left a few HERE.
